Set screw is a kind of screw specially used for fixing the relative position of machine parts.  When in use, screw the set screw into the screw hole of the machine to be fixed, and press the end of the screw on the surface of another machine, even if the former machine is fixed on the latter one. Slotted and hexagon socket set screws are used on parts where the head is not allowed to be exposed. 
Set screws is also called grub screw, there are several types of end point. DIN913 socket set screw is with flat point, chamfering and flat end.
